A few football questions to try and help us through self isolating and stop us going crazy with boredom.

As an antidote to the majority of football quizzes these days which seem obsessed with the Premier League these are all based pre-1992.
Post your answers on here and good luck, but no Googling !!!!!

1) Who am I?
I played for Carlisle Utd and Preston North End before moving into management with Carlisle, Grimsby Town, Workington, Huddersfield Town and Liverpool

2) Who were the Lisbon Lions?

3) “And the Crazy Gang have beaten the Culture Club” Legendary commentary from John Moston, but who were the Crazy Gang and who were the Culture Club?

4) Which Midlands town did Duncan Edwards hail from?

5) When was the last time Burnley reached the FA Cup semi final and which Rammy supporter was there supporting their opposition that day?

6) Which Englishman managed Ajax from 1959-1961 and is widely credited with introducing the concept of total football to the club

7) Manchester City signed Colin Bell and Francis Lee from two neighboring Lancashire clubs. Name the two clubs

8 What was significant about the 1887 game between Preston North End and Hyde and has seen it in record books ever since?

9) Who is credited as the first footballer to earn £100 per week?

10) At which club did Brian Clough start his managerial career?

An excellent effort from Mr Trotter, but not quite 10/10

Question 10, I'm going to be pedantic and ask for the actual name Hartlepool used at the time Cloughie joined them

I'll put the answers up at some point tomorrow just in case any one else can be arsed to have a go at them and aren't too busy on Pornhub

Same answers as Trevor but not 5 but got Vic Buckingham I learnt a lot through him in tactics people thought he was nuts but he was steps ahead. Celtic beat Sporting Lisbon away all but 1 were born within 10 miles of Celtic Park they were one dirty team nearly pure Glaswegians one bad meaning British team. I moved to Maine Road fom watching Bolton and Bury when Colin and Franny moved to City Wynn Davis went to Newcastle United from the Trotters then to Main Road and our Rodney left QPR to go up north what a team. Stop  Enough its 5 to 12pm nite ya all

El Tactico - what a beautiful , sheltered , and untainted life you must have led . The big clue is in the first four letters . Ho Ho & Tee Hee Matey . Think Ali G would have asked " With respek El Tel iz u avin a larf ? " . Your second clue is to stick an ' o ' at the end of the first four letters and try again . If you don't ' get it ' then , then give us a bell on the Bat-Phone - Cheers - your mate Hackers.

Coincidently, the FA Cup semi final against Burnley at Hillsborough, was played a mere 46 years ago yesterday.
Unforgettable memories of Supermac charging through the Burnley defence to score both Newcastle goals.
I also attended the Final at Wembley. A very different story. Beaten 3-0 by Liverpool for whom NUFC's future player, and, eventually manager, Kevin Keegan, scored twice.
And still no trophy won since 1969.

Thanks for being pedantic Mr Darkside.

Hartlepools United, I think.

Hope everyone is well and in good health.

Has anyone extracted Terry's head from the sand yet!!!

I'm going to get some t-shirts printed up with "Whats Pornhub?" on them. One of the great all time posts on here, Tel

Back to the quiz answers and we seem to have got most of them. As Terry says, Vic Buckingham was the Englishman who managed Ajax and should be more well known than he is. Only an insular FA who didn't recognise that there was football outside of this country stops him from being one of the all time greats. Give him a Google

We also got that Hartlepool United were Hartlepools United when Cloughie joined. This was due to the club representing two areas, West Hartlepool and Old Hartlepool.

The only one we didn't get was the 'Culture Club' were Liverpool, not Chelsea. 1988 FA Cup Final

Darkside , - I agree . Yep by far THE most innocent and comical question EVER posed during the life of our Fab Fans Forum . I've now been in touch with the Queen at Royal Windsor and she has kindly and most graciously agreed to give her Royal Assent , and said she would firstly contact her Potter to slap it on the Royal Mugs . What a good sport she is , but still wants 98% of the take . Well bless her cotton socks saying " One has to maintain One's Standards at all times "
Well you know I'm the most discreet person on planet Earth and would be the last person to ' Talk out of Court ' so to speak , but she did intimate she was a bit pissed off with all this Megxit malarchy , and her favourite son Andrew - The Duke of Pork , needing to get his arse over to the States to answer some questions , but what really took the biscuit was Phil the Greek hasn't got a good sh*g in him .
