According to our Twitterfeed, The Rams have signed Jamie Rainford who arrives at The Riverside from Clitheroe. Jamie is an out and out striker and played some time ago for Glossop North End, so you wouldn't have to be Einstein to work out as to why he has signed for us. He has also played for Colwyn Bay and played against us at The Riverside for Colwyn but had a lean day by his standards. A prolific goal-getting striker in the past, and I'm sure he will link up well with his old mate Steady Eddie Moran and be a big asset to The Rams.

Looks an interesting signing.

And we have another 2 signings reported in the match preview. Kieran Lugsden who, according to Google, is a midfielder/right-back who played at Shaw Lane. And Martin Parker, a defender who has previously played at New Mills, Glossop and FC United.

It's good to see that our new manager is building his squad from players he knows and has worked with before, rather than bringing in players on reputation alone or getting loan players.

And so say all of us

Reading the player profiles on the website, it's also pleasing to see that we're also bringing in some players from lower leagues. Apart from Thommo, who was an excellent signing, I can't think of a single player we've brought in from leagues below us in recent years
