Well, after a 7 hour sleep, I've decided to get out of my pit and reflect on past night.

The wide open spaces of the Radipole Lane stadium offered us the chance to show what we could do and we took it with both hands. That was supposed to help the Terras get behind our defence!

Taking the lead through an own goal should have settled us down, but just over a minute later, we gave a sloppy goal way. Rams should have have had a penalty for a clear handball, but it never came as we battled away all over the park. However, going in at half time level felt good, we had a platform to build on, which we did to good effect.

Once we got into the rythem of the game, there was only one team in it. Rams used the wings to great effect and Weymouth did not have an answer to it. The deserved and crucial second goal came at a good time as we was dominating play at will. As Eddie Moran lifted the ball over the keeper, from behind the goal, we could see it was heading into the net, but to others in the stand, it looked as if it was going over. You always have nagging doubts about holding on to a lead, but tonight, I honestly felt that we was going to win by the way we had taken the game to Weymouth.

The icing on the cake came when Jason Carey slotted the ball between the keepers legs much to the delight of the small, but happy band of support. It was no more than we deserved. In reality, it should have been more, such was the dominance of the lads. Even a missed penalty by Tom Kennedy failed to dampen the spirits. At the final whistle you had to be there to see what it mean't to the players and the fans.

As a club. Weymouth FC are a credit to their league. The hospitality shown towards us by their officials was second to none. The fans, magnanimous in defeat, were full of praise for us, wishing the club the very best in the next round. There's nothing wrong by be gracious in defeat.

Last night, we witnessed another outstanding achievement in the clubs history, one to rival that never to be forgotten day at Bamber Bridge. Days like this don't come around too often, so lets savour the moment and look forward to another mouth watering tie against near neighbours, AFC Fylde. A match that if well plugged on radio and other media, could and should attract a crowd in excess of 1,000.

Well Rams. Thanks for another memorable day trip.

Well well, you buggers only went and did it! Couldn’t make the game last night but went to Saturdays so can testify as to the distance between the two towns. Amazing effort to get the team and fans there

These two games are why we watch non league football and enjoy it (sometimes) so much.

Anyway, all the best against Fylde in the next round, it won’t be easy for them that’s for sure.

Johnnyboywfc - This season has been exceptional in that the new management team have instilled a never say die mentality, which was evident last night.

Thoroughly enjoyed your clubs hospitality and in general, best wishes for future rounds from your supporters. Best wishes from us for the remainder of the season.

Well that really was one of my best ever footballing experiences - I still haven't come down to earth! It's up there with beating Darlo away in the playoff semis, and we didn't need a police escort from the ground this time as the locals were much more friendly! Really nice fans, so many of whom made a point of congratulating us before the game for being there, and after the game for winning - class.

The players gave their absolute all and as the game wore on we showed our class and determination more and more. We have a TEAM now, not a bunch of players and I am absolutely buzzing! Ask me to pick a Man of the Match? No chance, I'd have to choose them all!

Absolutely Katie, you could not choose any one player; hero's one and all.

When you see a stadium start to slowly empty, you know you have been doing a good job. The imported fans from Bideford and Wimborne seemed to enjoy the result as well, thank you to them.

However, we have to come back to earth for Saturday for our league trip to Glossop NE, a vital match if we want to make the play offs at least..
