Yep, welcome jonnyboyWFC to our friendly Fans Forum. Good to have some early banter even if it is only in text form at the moment. We wish all associated with Weymouth FC, safe travel ' up north ' and back. Our facilities up here are pretty decent with a nice bar in the adjacent Cricket Club, and a real ale brewery just around the corner [ Irwell Brewery ]. Also good for any steam train enthusiasts among yourselves as the East Lancashire Railway passes the side of our Riverside Ground and runs 7 days a week.
We're all very much looking forward to a cracking game, and ' Cup Fever ' starting to build.
Cheers.

bluemoon - welcome to our Fans Forum. Hard to work out at the moment whether ur a Southerner or a Northerner.
The reason I say that is because ' up north ' we associate ' blue moon ' with Manchester City FC as it is their Club song.

Thanks LK. Our supporters coach is leaving Weymouth at 0600 so would imagine being in Ramsbottom by about 1pm ish after a couple of stops.

Fair few travelling independently as well

Am determined to get this topic up to 3000 viewings by the end of proceedings. Looks like we're playing for a place in the last 16. How good is that ! That means there's only 8 matches in the next round !
One thing that is for sure is that either Wrexham or Leyton Orient will leave the Competition as they play each other on Saturday. Also 3 ties taking place tomorrow the 8th January.
Just realised that the 3 ties referred to above are all outstanding ties from the last round i.e. our Workington round, so the winners will play again this Saturday. The 6 teams involved in tomorrow's ties are Maidenhead -v- Oxford City,
Dover -v- Havant & W, and Salisbury -v- Braintree.

Hi Hackers. I'm very much a Northerner and a regular at the HWRS. See you Saturday!

Good to have new blood on our Forum, so keep posting. The more viewpoints we get, then the better to arrive at a consensus of opinion.

What’s the best option for parking on Sat? Parking available at the ground or residential nearby?

Thanks

Hi jonnyboy
There is some parking at the stadium/cricket club for approx 75 vehicles and at the adjacent steam rail station for 40+ cars.. Parking is also at other sites in town centre but is limited. Best come early and enjoy the many bars/cafes in Rammy. Safe journey

Jonnyboy, you'll be pleased to know that both the Football and Cricket Clubs both have fairly good parking facilities and both car parks merge together. You can use either. Also if we know what time the coach or coaches arrive they will be able to park up at the Ground and be directed where to park by one of our Stewards. The car parks are adjacent the Ground. Best to get your Secretary to phone the Club to arrange times etc. Also cars are often parked ' up the kerb ' along the access Road to the Ground alongside the railway track, but note there are yellow lines on the first half of the lane, so avoid them. Also best to avoid the Supermarket Car Parks being Aldi, Morrisons, and Tesco's with some being ' Short Stay ' and rules enforced !
