Just listened to Chris's interview on SoundCloud.
He mentions the possibility of Saturday's game being switched to Newcastle's ground as we've still to play them home & away, given the state of our pitch after last night's epic tussle it would seem a sensible move.
Can anybody shed any light on whether is likely or otherwise?

Let's not forget , that a ' switch ' has already taken place with Atherton Coll's earlier this season. A switch is a good option for the upcoming Newcastle Town game , but would find it hard to understand why our pitch can be deemed by some as unplayable so early b4 Saturday . Provided the weather keeps mild and dry , I see no reason whatsoever that the pitch can't be made playable. I accept that one person couldn't make the pitch fit to play , but 25 helpers with sufficient tools , sand , some new turf , would easily do the jobby b4 Thursday night , so what's the big deal ? The answer to that is quite simply D-E-L-E-G-A-T-I-O-N and £££££££££££££££££££££££££££££ !

The club have requested that if anyone has any time to go down and help out. However, it will take quite an effort to get it playable after last night so maybe the switch will be forward thinking contingency plan

Hackers, go and look at the pitch!
There were 25 people (at any one time) on it last night and look at the condition.
After today, the forecast as far as rain goes is not brilliant and a switch is really sensible, subject of course to Evo-Stik League approval.
To put another 25 helpers on the pitch in its current condition would be stupid!

Have you seen the state of it. Looks like a battle took place on it; well it did, sort of !

Rain/Showers is the forecast for the next 3 days, hardly conducive with putting a pitch back together. Changing the match could be a wise move, keeping continuity going. I was there this morning and the divots were slimy and deep in many cases. A roller would be out of the question until at least some divot's put back. What it needs at the moment more than anything is some drying conditions, which makes it easier to repair.

Lets hope for some good weather.

Whether the Newcastle Town game takes place at home or away , I just hope that some players can be ' rested ' , as the whole team ran themselves ragged against AFC Fylde and gave their all on the pitch on Tuesday nite. We have at least 4 cup-tied players back in the squad , and should consider all the sub's on Tuesday's team sheet that didn't get a game. Without naming names , I particularly refer to the spring-heeled defender being Thommo , and Eddie Morgan as announced over the Weymouth tannoy. Maybe the trojan - Jamie Rother also. It all stands to reason dunnit says Alf.

We could all be having a rest on Saturday, Hackers, as I've heard Newcastle are having work done on their dressing rooms

Mmmmmmm - nah then - now there's a curved ball !
On Sat 9th Feb , AFC Fylde travel away to Maidstone United in the National League , having already beaten them at home 2 - 0 back in October 2018. The point being made here is that if The Rams have no game at all this coming Saturday , the entire team will be rested , whereas Fylde players get no rest , coupled with a long coach journey to Maidstone and back , so in theory The Rams should b ' fresher ' for the replay , and as we know so well , many games are won on the smallest of margins . Every possibility that the replay will go to extra-time . And lastly Little Katie I think posted in the Weymouth thread , or maybe Workington thread , that The Rams were the ' replay specialists ' or maybe it was ' masters of the replay ' , and I think we'll just add AFC Fylde to the list being Yaxley - Pickering - Workington - Weymouth - AFC Fylde . Hope so.

ps Statto tells me that Maidstone is in Kent - that's quite some way away !

Can only presume that this game must be the subject of an early Saturday morning pitch inspection by the Match Referee or his/her Approved Deputy . Is that correct ? Pls advise .
