Nice one Statto , your " The Run - in " posting has now topped over 3000 viewings . Not often that happens and just shows the high level of interest in our run-in. Looks like we are gonna be stuck with the crazy play-off winners situation for at least next season also , when a further 2 play-off winners will lose out again . However , it does look like the FA and the Northern Premier League have come to rescue this ridiculous situation for the 2020/21 season by creating a third Division at Step 4 to expand Step 4 to then cover the new 8th Division and hopefully get rid of the play-off anomaly .

By expanding our own NPL , it will then give us 8 Divisions nationally at Step 4 , and hopefully remove the cruel anomaly of play-off winners not getting the promotion that they rightfully deserve to their respective Premiership .

Humble apologies for the double posting . I haven't got a clue as to how this mess-up keeps re-occurring .

An excellent post there from Toby Trotter and think it sums up how most of us feel about the season perfectly.

Fine work, Sir, and bring on August :woohoo:

All still very academic as far as The Rams are concerned , but out of the 3 lower ranked teams , one won , one lost , and one still to play . Brighouse won , Ashford lost , and Cinderford play their play-off final tomorrow - Bank Holiday Monday , so it seems to me that The Rams still wouldn't know today had they won our play-off final whether they would have been promoted or not .
Also , if you read the Twitterfeeds from other teams caught up in this messy scenario , it is clearly apparent that the FA comes in for a mighty slating for allowing the crazy and ill thought out situation to arise in the first place . Surely not beyond the wit of man to make sure this farce of a situation doesn't repeat itself next season. How about a second round of play-offs for the bottom four teams of the 7 play-off winners , with 2 to get promotion ? , or even a mini-league for the bottom 3 teams on a round-robin basis where each team play each other and the top of the mini-league gets promotion , making 5 teams in all to go up. Worth thinking about something along these lines .

EDIT
Looks like Brighouse are a casualty of this mess and cannot gain promotion .

FINAL EDIT

For the record , it ended Yate Town 3 Cinderford Town 1

LATE EXTRA
The other team in the shitty boat alongside Brighouse Town are Heybridge Swifts from the Isthmian League who lost out despite having 74 points [ 2pts more than Rammy ] and winning their play-off final , so you wouldn't have to be Einstein to work out that The Mighty Rams were destined for the shitty boat anyway !

This thread almost done and dusted now , but well worth noting from our epic FA Trophy games against Weymouth and AFC Fylde , how both these teams ended their seasons , and just to show and highlight just what esteemed company The Rams were in . Firstly , Weymouth went on to win the Evo-Stik League Premier South title , and then furthermore went on to become Champion of Champions by beating Kettering Town 5 - 3 in a penalty shoot-out to be crowned Southern League Champions , and will now play in the National League South.
As for AFC Fylde , they have booked themselves two trips to Wembley to play Salford in the play-off Final for promotion into the Football League itself , and then a further Wembley appearance to play Leyton Orient in the FA Trophy Final. I just wonder how many teams have put 5 goals past Fylde in the last few seasons in normal time ? The Mighty Rams did ! Maybe only ever happened when they were Kirkham & Wesham !
Also to reach the last 16 and be the sole representatives from the whole of the Northern Premier League still in the FA Trophy run was an amazing feat in itself .

Well I see Leyton Orient didn't put 5 past AFC Fylde yesterday at Wembley in the FA Trophy Final . In fact the ' O's ' even as the League Champions didn't put a single goal past Fylde yesterday . Another feather in the Rammy cap ?
Yep , I think so - only knocked out at the last 16 stage by the eventual finalists and WINNERS ! :woohoo:
