Pilky injury mars Warrington win

An injury to midfielder Joel Pilkington marred Ramsbottom United's victory over Warrington Town on Saturday as he was carried off after just 8 minutes with a badly broken wrist.

Pilky, in his 199th start for the club, suffered the break in what looked an innocuous challenge and was carried off by team-mates Billy Priestley and Gary Stopforth and taken to hospital where it was diagnosed with the wrist break, which was put back into place manually but he will be operated on on Sunday or Monday to have a plate and pins put into it.

The club wishes Pilky a very quick recovery.

Talking of players returning from injury, another club legend, Jon Robinson, was back on the bench for the Rams on Saturday after a three-month lay-off.
