This was a complete performance by a Farsley Celtic team who with games in hand should go onto secure the league championship.

Quick, big and agile they dominated from first minute to last and never let the level of performance drop even after the win was safely in the bag which truthfully was as early as the 21st minute when an impressive Lewis Nightingale scored the second of his two goals in as many minutes. This was such a horror show for the Rams that it would not have been surprising to see the names Lugosi, Cushing and Price on their team sheet - it might have been better if they had been.
The loss of Paul Linwood just before half time did not help but by that stage the Rams were 3-0 down and any wild hopes of a fight back were extinguished just two minutes into the second half when James Wilshaw breezed past a couple of powder puff challenges to score the visitors 4th. Farsley passed round a hideously unbalanced Rams midfield at will and their forwards ran through and past the Rams back four with impunity. At times their movement was mesmeric and a joy to watch if only through ones hands from the sofa.
It was inevitable that heads did not so much drop as roll off the shoulders and effort other than on a hard press defence dropped to a disinterested walking pace at times. The last three Farsley goals were training ground easy in their execution with Nightingale completing a hat-trick after breaking into the box, losing and regaining possession at least twice and then slotting easily past Martin Fearon. It will be galling for the keeper that his only touches apart from clearances with his feet were to pick the ball out of the net.
This was the Rams heaviest ever home defeat and the reaction to it in terms of selection, set up and performance will be massively important - it has well that the next game is coming along quickly - and is away from home.
