It may have been April Fools Day, but it was no laughing matter for a Ramsbottom United team that has hit a woeful run of form.

Just two points have been garnered from the last 21 on offer, and the performance at Hyde summed up the fact that there appears to be a total lack of confidence amongst the players at the moment.
That being the case, the last time they needed in Tameside was to concede an early goal. Alas, that's exactly what happened after a mere 28 seconds.
Craig Sutherland, who had a superb game for the Tigers down the right hand side, crossed for Omry Perel to side-foot home from close range.
From then on there was an air of inevitability as Hyde produced a flood of attacking moves which had the Rams defence on the back-foot for the rest of the game.
Paddy Miller was in the right place to sweep home the second goal for the hosts on 30 minutes, after which the Rams somehow held on until half-time, helped in no small part by debutant goalkeeper Dean Hardy, in for the harshly suspended Martin Fearon.
Big Khamsouk added a third on 59 minutes, before the score-line was made even more emphatic on 73 minutes, when perseverance from Sutherland brought him the goal his performance deserved.
As if to really rub the Rams noses in it, Hyde cruelly added yet another as the game entered the final whistle when poor marking allowed Peter Boyle to nod in a fifth.
