Late goals sink Rams resolve

With just 20 minutes left and the game still poised at 0-0, the Rams were denied a clear goal when the referee and linesman between them failed to spot that a Shelton Payne free kick had crossed the line by a good yard.  It would be easy to see this misfortune as the turning point in the match but in truth the Rams were second best throughout and the performance as a whole was a step backwards from the promise shown in recent matches.

Floods start to recede at HWRS

It was a glorious sunny day in Ramsbottom on Sunday 27th December which allowed the flood waters to recede just about enough for officers of the club to be able to enter the ground and take stock of the devastation caused by the Boxing Day flooding.

Rams through in Doodson Cup

It is very sad to see how far many of the less attractive aspects of football at the senior level, both on and off the pitch, are creeping into the game at semi-professional level.  One example is a level disinterest almost amounting to disdain which clubs are showing to cup competitions by fielding below strength teams in front of low crowds.
